POLISH PICKLES 
1 gal. cucumbers sliced thin, measure after sliced

Pour boiling salted water over them, leave over night. 1 cup salt to 1 gallon water. Fix late in afternoon. Next morning take out of salt water and drain.

Make weak vinegar water to cover cucumbers 1 cup vinegar, simmer but do not boil.

Pack jars while syrup is getting ready; put one slice of onion on top of each can of cucumbers.

SYRUP:

2 c. vinegar
6 c. sugar
1 tsp. tumeric
1 tsp. salt

Boil for 5 minutes, pour over cucumbers and seal.
