PUMPKIN BREAD 
2/3 c. shortening
2 2/3 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 can pumpkin
2/3 c. water
3 1/3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
2/3 c. nuts
Raisins (opt.)

Grease 2 loaf pans or 4 coffee cans. Mix shortening, sugar and stir in eggs, pumpkin and water. Blend in flour, soda, salt, baking powder, cinnamon and cloves. Stir in nuts or raisins. Pour into pans. Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes (less for coffee cans) at 325 degrees. The coffee can baked bread makes a nice gift size at Christmas, also pretty sliced, as the slices are rounds.
