FRUIT TORTE 
MERINGUE:

6 egg whites
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat 6 egg whites and 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar until stiff, add salt and vanilla. Add 1 1/2 cups sugar very gradually, beating all the time until stiff. Pour into pan and bake in 400 degree oven. Turn oven off as soon as put in and leave for at least 8 hours or overnight. Do not open oven at all.

FILLING:

2 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 pt. whipping cream
2 c. miniature marshmallows

Cream 2 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese. Fold in 1 pint cream, whipped, and 2 cups miniature marshmallows. Pour this mixture over the above meringue and refrigerate 6 hours (at least or overnight). Serve with fruit, good with strawberries.
