JENN'S HOMEMADE BEEF AND NOODLES
Great meal, fills you up, keeps you warm in the winter, and is an old-time delicious favorite!

BEEF AND NOODLES:

1-2 pkg. beef stew meat (already cubed)
1-2 pkg. grandma's noodles (thawed)
6-8 cups water (depends on your pot size)
10-15 beef bouillon cubes
1-3 tbsp. butter flavored Crisco

In a large pot melt Crisco. Then brown stew meat. Do not drain once browned (you need that "grease" for flavor!)

When meat is browned add water so it just covers meat. Bring to boil, add 8-10 bouillon cubes (check for taste, you want it rather salty). Let cubes dissolve, then let that simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour. (You may need to add more water, keep it level with meat. You may need to add more bouillon, check taste).

Then add 1-2 pkgs of noodles, depending on how many you are feeding. Continue to simmer for approximately 30 minutes, added small amounts of water ONLY AS NEEDED. You want this dish to be thick and hearty, and have some "gravy" in it, not too runny, and not too solid. Test the noodles to make sure they are tender. While this sits and cools and thickens up, make your potatoes.

MASHED POTATOES:

instant mashed potatoes work fastest (homemade are just as great!)

Instant works fine, and is fastest. (You will need salt, butter, and milk as directed on box). However homemade mashed potatoes are fantastic too!

TO SERVE:

Simply place a dollop of potatoes on plate and cover with the Beef and Noodles. Salt and pepper to taste (you probably won't need any salt). Serve with your favorite vegetable as a side or even on top!

This is great as a leftover too.

Just like I remembered from my childhood. Mom made this, got the recipe from someone at church. I've been looking for this recipe for a long time. Thank you!
