6 qts. popcorn 1 c. butter 2 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. Karo Peanuts (optional) 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla Keep popcorn hot in a 300 degree oven. Melt the butter and stir in sugar, Karo and salt. Bring to a boil. Stir constantly, boil 5 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat; stir in soda and vanilla. Slowly pour syrup over hot corn, mixing to coat every kernel. Turn into a large buttered pan. Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes. Cool and break. |
