CHOW CHOW 
1 peck green tomatoes
1 lg. or 2 sm. cabbages
1 qt. onions
1 1/2 pt. green peppers, after they are chopped
2 tbsp. each celery seed, mace, allspice, cinnamon
1/2 c. white mustard seed
2 qt. apple vinegar
2 lbs. sugar

Grind tomatoes and sprinkle with 1/2 cup salt. Let stand overnight; strain. Grind peppers, onions, cabbage and mix together. Have vinegar and spices boiling then add vegetables. Boil 30 minutes or until tender.
