Round steak, tenderized to thin thickness Bacon strips, cut in half Onion, cut in half and then in slices Cut steak into 2 x 4 inch pieces. Place a bacon slice over the steak, place a piece of the onion on one end and roll up securely. Secure with 2 toothpicks. Shake in a bag filled with flour, salt and pepper. Place in a pan with a little oil and brown on all sides. Pour enough water to just cover the meat. cover and cook on a low heat for about 1 hour. Remove meat and make a gravy of pan drippings. Serve over mashed potatoes. |
