SQUASH AND APPLE BAKE 
2 lbs. squash (butternut)
1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 c. butter, melted
1 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
2 baking apples, cored and cut into 1/2 inch slices

Halve squash and remove seeds. Pare the squash. Cut into 1/2 inch slices. Mix together the brown sugar, butter, flour, salt. Arrange the squash in ungreased baking dish (12x7x2 inch) and top with apple slices. Sprinkle the sugar mixture over the top. Cover and bake at 350 degrees until the squash is tender.
