3 lbs. apples, sliced
2 tbsp. flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
1/2 c. raisins (optional)
1 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 heaping tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. oil
1 egg, beaten

Grease an 8 inch square baking dish. Layer with apples, 2 tablespoons flour and cinnamon mixed together, nuts and raisins. End with apples. Mix the 1 cup flour, sugar, baking powder, oil and egg together. Mixture will be coarse. Spoon over apples and dot several butter squares over top. Bake in 350 degree oven for about 1 hour. Very good while warm served with whipped cream or ice cream.
