SAUSAGE & DITALI | |
2 tbsp. vegetable oil 1 1/2 lbs. Italian sausage, cut into pieces 2 med. onions, chopped 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 (10 oz.) can tomato puree 1 lb. ditali (or other cut macaroni) 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese Heat oil in a large frying pan. Add sausage and saute for five to seven minutes. Add onions and garlic powder and saute until onions are transparent. Add salt and pepper and mix well. Stir in tomato puree. Bring to a boil and reduce heat. Cook for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Prepare ditali according to package; drain. Mix ditali with sauce and sprinkle with cheese. Serves 4 to 6. |
