SCOTTISH SHORTBREAD COOKIES | |
1 cup butter 2 cups pastry or all-purpose flour 1/2 cup sugar Preheat oven to 300-325°F. Beat together butter and sugar. Mix in flour by hand or with a wooden spoon until well mixed; mixture may be crumbly. Roll into walnut sized balls. Flatten balls of dough with a fork or push a design onto the top (the bottom of a fancy glass or a cookie mold). Or form a disk shape and cut into wedges. Arrange onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until edges are a light beige in color. Do not allow to brown. |
