TACO SALAD 
1 lb. ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 (14 oz.) can red kidney beans, drained
1 pkg. taco seasoning mix
1/4 tsp. salt
1 head lettuce, cut in pieces
8 oz. shredded Cheddar cheese
1 c. Thousand Island dressing
1 sm. bottle smooth taco sauce
1 (6 1/2 oz.) pkg. tortilla chips
1 lg. avocado, sliced (optional)
4 tomatoes, cut into sm. wedges

Brown beef and onions in large skillet. Add beans, taco mix and salt. Cover and simmer 10 minutes.

In a large bowl combine lettuce, cheese, dressing, sauce, chips, avocado and tomatoes. Allow beef mixture to cool to room temperature and mix through salad.
