SARAH'S BEST HOMEMADE HOT
CHOCOLATE

1 tbsp. cocoa powder
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. water
1 c. milk
a bit of vanilla, if desired

Combine cocoa, sugar, and water in a small saucepan. Heat it on low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent the paste from sticking to the pan. After about 1 to 2 minutes, add milk and vanilla. Mix it all together until it reaches your preferred temperature.

I love this recipe make it every season..but if you have a milk steamer(like on cappuccino machines) you can use cocoa powder and sweetened condensed milk no sugar and just steam your milk. I worked at a coffee shop and we actually shaved our own Ghiradeli chocolate instead of cocoa powder and we were legendary in our town for the best hot chocolate ever. But this is also a great simple hot chocolate and almost as good:)

Great recipe! add some salt too, just to bring out the flavor of the chocolate more (do that to any recipe, especially chocolate chip cookies!)

That, was amazing. I added a bit more milk and a 1/2 tbsp. of cinnamon sugar, as I had put to much vanilla in it, but it turned out amazing!!!!

Delicious! I added more milk so it was less rich. It mixes well with coffee to make a cafe mocha! Sooo good!

This was delicious. I made it for a bunch of people, and they all loved it. I put candy cane marshmallows on top, added in a little extra cocoa powder to make it more chocolaty. It was a little sweet though, so next time I'll cut back a little on the sugar.

I used soy milk and added 1/4 tbs of cinnamon. It's a great recipe, but a little too sweet for me. My family loved it!

If you want it a little sweeter, try vanilla ice cream instead of milk.. so so good..

I am a nursing mom and any dairy in my diet really bothers my infant, so I used soy milk. It didn't come out as thick as it would have with regular milk, but it was still really good. I added all natural hazelnut coffee creamer!! So good!!
