GINGER CREAM COOKIES 
1 1/4 c. shortening
1 1/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. molasses
3/4 c. hot water
2 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. allspice
4 c. flour

Sift or stir together the flour and spices. Cream shortening and eggs together, add brown sugar and beat well. Add molasses and mix well. Put soda into 3/4 cup hot water and mix alternatley with flour beginning and ending with flour. Drop by teaspoons on cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Frost with powdered sugar frosting.
