CABBAGE DINNER 
1 lb. hamburger
1 sm. onion
1 egg
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. oregano
1/2 c. bread crumbs
2 tbsp. butter
4 c. shredded cabbage
1 bell pepper, sliced
1/4 tsp. pepper
4 med. raw potatoes, sliced
1 ripe tomato, sliced
1/2 c. water

Mix first seven ingredients and form into small meatballs. In a heavy skillet, brown meatballs on all sides, then drain on absorbent paper. In 6 quart saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add the cabbage, bell pepper and half of the salt and pepper. Next, add potatoes and arrange the tomato slices on top. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add the water, then arrange the meatballs on the top. Cover tightly and steam over low heat approximately 30 minutes or until potatoes are done. Do not overcook. Do not stir while cooking. Serve directly from saucepan with hot corn bread. Serves 4-6.
