GOLOMPKI (CABBAGE ROLLS) | |
1 head cabbage 1 lb. ground beef 1 lb. ground pork 1 onion, chopped 1/4 tsp. poultry seasoning 3/4 c. partially cooked rice 1 egg 1 can tomato soup 2 tbsp. butter 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. pepper Wilt cabbage leaves by scalding in boiling water to which 2 tablespoons vinegar has been added. Drain, cool in cold water and pat dry. Cut out ribs. Saute onion in butter until transparent. Combine meat, egg, rice and seasonings. Spread each cabbage leaf with about 2 tablespoons of mixture. Fold 2 opposite sides and roll, starting with one of the open ends. Place in pan close to each other and add can of diluted tomato soup and 2 tablespoons butter on top. If you like a more tomato taste, add 1/2 cup ketchup. Bake for 1 hour at 375 degrees. M-m-good! |
