FRUIT CAKE COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
2/3 c. brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tbsp. milk
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. fruit juice
1 lb. candied pineapple
1/2 lb. candied cherries
4 c. pecans (chop last 3 ingredients)

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg. Dissolve soda in the milk. Sift together flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, cloves, and salt. Add dry ingredients, alternately with the milk and fruit juice, to the fat and sugar mixture. Mix in fruit and nuts. Drop by spoonfuls on greased baking sheets. Bake at 300 degrees for 20-30 minutes. Yields 9-10 dozen cookies.
