HOT FROSTED GINGER BREAD 
3 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. melted shortening
1 c. molasses
2 eggs
1 c. boiling water

Sift flour, spices and soda together. Stir brown sugar into melted shortening. Add molasses and unbeatened eggs. Beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients and add hot water alternately in small amounts, beating after each addition.

Pour into greased pan and bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes. Makes 1 (10 x 10 inch) cake.

FROSTING:

Mix 1 cup confectioners' sugar, 4 tablespoons cream and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Spread on hot bread.
