OLD FASHIONED GINGER BREAD CAKE 
1 c. sugar
1 c. mild molasses
1 c. warm water
2 1/4 c. flour
1/4 c. butter
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs, beaten

Cream sugar and butter. Add molasses. Dissolve baking soda in warm water and add to mixture. Add sifted ingredients and stir. Add beaten eggs last and stir. Bake in greased and floured 9 x 13 inch pan at 350 degrees until springs back when touched. Serve hot or cold with any favorite topping.
