SOFT GINGER BREAD 
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 c. molasses
1 c. boiling water
1 egg
1 tbsp. ginger
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour

Cream butter, add sugar and beat. Add egg, molasses and water. Sift flour with ginger and soda. Add to above to make a soft batter. Put into an 8x8 inch pan, and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Serve with whipped topping.
