1 c. cornmeal
1/2 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 sm. onion, finely chopped
1/2 tsp. seasoning salt
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. oil

Mix all ingredients together. Drop small ball shapes into 375 to 400 degree shortening or oil. Cook until light brown. Makes approximately 25 hush puppies.
