1 1/2 c. self-rising cornmeal 1/2 c. self-rising flour 1/2 tsp. garlic salt 1 med. onion, finely chopped 1 c. milk Fat for deep frying Sift together flour, cornmeal, and garlic salt in large bowl. Mix in onion. Stir in milk and egg. Let mixture stand 3 minutes. Drop from tablespoon a few at a time into deep fat and fry until golden brown (360 degrees), about 3 minutes. Drain on absorbent paper. Serve with fish. |
