HUSH PUPPIES 
1 c. self rising cornmeal
1/3 c. self rising flour
1/3 c. onion, chopped
2 tbsp. sugar
Dash garlic powder
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. milk

Mix all ingredients. Let set a few hour or overnight. Drop with ice tea spoon into 350 degree oil or lard. Dip spoon into hot oil before each dipping to avoid batter sticking to spoon.

Makes approximately 25 hush puppies.
