BLACKBERRY DUMPLINGS 
2 qt. blackberries
3 c. sugar
2 c. water

Place ingredients in 4-quart pot. Cook on medium heat until berries begin to break down, about 1/2 hour. While this is cooking, make the dumplings as follows: 3/4 c. sugar 2 eggs 1/2 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla

Beat eggs, milk, and vanilla. Stir into biscuit mix and sugar. Stir well. Drop by teaspoonfuls into berry mixture. Cook, covered, on low heat 5 minutes. Turn dumplings and cook an additional 3 minutes.
