CHERRY DUMPLINGS 
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. sugar
Dash salt
1 1/2 c. canned sour pie cherries
1/2 c. cherry juice
1 1/2 c. boiling water

DUMPLINGS:

1 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
Dash salt
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/3-1/2 c. milk

In a large saucepan or Dutch oven mix all sauce ingredients. Boil for 5 minutes.

Mix flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in 2 tablespoons butter. Combine vanilla and milk. Add to dry ingredients and stir just until moistened. Drop dough by spoonsful onto boiling sauce. Cook uncovered 5 minutes. Cover and cook 15 minutes more. Serve with warm sauce. Serves 4.
