POPPY OR SESAME SEED THUMBPRINT
COOKIES
 
1 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted flour
3 tbsp. poppy or sesame seeds
1/4 c. jelly

Cream butter, sugar and salt until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks, one at a time. Stir in vanilla well. Stir in flour, gradually forming dough. Roll in 1 inch balls. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet; press thumb in center of each. Sprinkle poppy seeds or sesame seeds over entire cookie. Place jelly in thumbprint. Bake in 375 degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Yields 2 dozen cookies.
