MOCHA THUMBPRINT COOKIES 
1/2 c. shortening
1/3 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. white sugar
1 beaten egg
2 tbsp. milk
1 3/4 c. sifted flour
1 tbsp. instant coffee (powder)
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts

FILLING:

8 oz. semi sweet chocolate chips

Cream together shortening and sugar. Add egg and milk. Sift flour, coffee, baking powder and salt. Stir into shortening mixture. Stir in nuts.

Roll dough into 3/4" balls. Place on greased cookie sheet. Press in center with thumb. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. When cooled, fill thumbprint with melted chocolate chips. Makes 5 dozen.
