CHEWY BROWNIES 
1/2 c. vegetables shortening
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs, beaten
6 tbsp. cocoa
3/8 c. all-purpose flour
3/8 tsp. low-sodium baking powder
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cream shortening and sugar together. Add vanilla and eggs. Beat until light and fluffy. Add cocoa, mix thoroughly. Sift flour and baking powder together, stir into creamed mixture. Add nuts and spread in a greased 8-inch square pan.

Bake for 25 minutes or until done.
