CEREAL COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 c. flour
1 3/4 c. oatmeal
3/4 c. All Bran
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar

Cream shortening and sugars. Add egg. Add sifted dry ingredients (flour, salt, soda, and cream of tartar). Add cereals, mix. Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet 2 inches apart. Bake at 375 to 400 degrees until deep golden brown. Store as soon as they cool, otherwise they tend to soften.
