Golden Graham Smores

 Megan (Illinois) says:
This recipe uses more corn syrup, less butter and marshmallows than the Indoor Smores recipe that I use. The ingredients, do not stick together without at least four cups of mini marshmallows melted with the chocolate. Boiling corn syrup, butter and chocolate chips can go wrong real quick. The original recipe calls for a melting, not a boiling.

Wow, I disagree with Megan above. I've made this recipe MANY times and have never had a problem. I work with police, and they LOVE these treats.

I just made the recipe and all seemed well according to the given recipe. The only thing I may do differently next time is boil some of the marshmallows with the chocolate and then take the remaining marshmallows and add it in as told above so that it will be easier to distribute.

I have made these according to the recipe several times and they are always inhaled before I can get seconds! I brought these to work for a bake sale and they were gone within a couple of hours and everyone wanted the recipe!

Awesome treat remembered from childhood, boiling and not just melting gets the chocolate mixture smooth enough to cover grahams properly. Easy to make, give it a try.

I recommend dropping stacks of the contents on a cookie sheet or wax paper rather than pressing into bars. Allows the eater, especially kids, to pick & pull at the treat rather than biting. The golden grahams can be difficult to cut and bite. Either way totally delicious!

@Megan Weather and things and what ur candy making experience is can be a problem even with a perfectly good recipe. I use this recipe all the time without any issues but I would not make them when its raining out.

I've been making this since I was a teenager. Original recipe is to MELT chocolate, syrup, vanilla together, pour over cereal, then add marshmallows, and spoon into pan. It is all held together this way. The marshmallows don't melt all the way, only get gooey. It is much better than when it's loose and like chocolate puppy chow mix. The Original recipe is usually on the Golden Grahams box around Christmas.
