MILK CHOCOLATE FLORENTINES 
2/3 c. butter
2 c. uncooked oats, old fashioned or quick
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. corn syrup
1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
2/3 c. all - purpose flour
2 c. (11-1/2 oz. pkg.) Nestle Toll House chocolate morsels

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cover cookie sheets with foil. Melt butter in medium sauce pan; remove from heat and stir in all remaining ingredients except chocolate morsels. Mix well. Drop by level teaspoonsful about 3 inches apart (only 10 to 12 per cookie sheet). Spread thinly with knife dipped in cold water. Bake at 375 degrees for 5 to 7 minutes; cool completely; peel foil from cookies. Melt chocolate morsels over hot (not boiling) water; stir until smooth. Spread chocolate generously on flat side of half the cookies; top with remaining cookies. Makes 3-1/2 dozen sandwich cookies.
