POLISH CABBAGE 
1 lg. onion, chopped
4-5 slices bacon
1 head cabbage, shredded
3-4 sour apples, grated
1-2 tomatoes, chopped
2 c. water
1 tbsp. vinegar

Fry bacon, remove. Fry chopped onion until brown. Pour bacon grease and fried onion over shredded cabbage in medium pot. Add grated apples, chopped tomatoes, water and vinegar. Cook over low heat for 1 hour or until done to desired texture.
