HEINZ SWEET PICKLES 
Approx. 3 gal. sm. cucumbers
Stone jar or plastic food bucket

Weight them down in brine.

Wash cucumbers and put to soak in brine made of 1 pint of pickling salt to 1 gallon cold water. Let set 1 week. Drain well and cut pickles in half lengthwise or chunk.

Make alum water of 2 level tbsp. alum to 1 gallon water. Heat to boiling and pour over pickles. Set for 24 hours longer.
