SQUASH AND APPLE BAKE 
2 lbs. butternut squash
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. butter, melted
1 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
2 baking apples, cored & cut into 1/2" slices

Cut each squash into halves; remove seeds. Pare squash. Cut into 1/2" slices. Mix brown sugar, butter, flour, soda. Arrange squash in ungreased oblong baking dish, 12" x 7 1/2" x 2". Top with apple slices. Sprinkle sugar mixture over top. Cover and bake at 350 degrees until tender, 50 to 60 minutes. Yield: 6 servings.
