FRUIT CAKE COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. buttermilk
2 c. plain flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. chopped dates
1 c. chopped candied cherries

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg. Mix well. Add milk, add salt, sod, and baking powder to flour and mix. Add nuts, cherries, and dates. Chill. Use teaspoon and drop on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes or until golden brown. Do not use mixer.
