One cup walnuts, 2 cups sugar, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup white Karo, 1 teaspoonful vanilla, 1 egg white. Boil sugar, water and Karo until syrup forms a soft ball in cold water. Beat white of egg until stiff and add to it one half of syrup, beating constantly. Cook remainder until it forms a hard ball in cold water. Add slowly to first mixture. Beat until stiff, add vanilla and nuts and pour into buttered pan. Cut when cold. |
