BLACK WALNUT BREAD 
2 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
4 tbsp. butter
1 c. chopped black walnuts
1 egg
1 c. milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease loaf pan (8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2).

Sift flour with baking powder, salt and sugar into mixing bowl. Cut butter in until mixture is fine, then mix nuts in. Beat egg slightly. Combine with milk. Add dry ingredients all at once. Stir just enough to blend mixture. Pour into greased pan.

Bake about 1 hour; let cool. Remove from pan; wrap in waxed paper. Wait approximately 4-5 hours before slicing. (1 loaf)
