GERMAN CHOCOLATE CARAMEL BARS 
1 pkg. of german chocolate cake mix
1 pkg. of Kraft caramels (should be 45 of them)
2/3 evaporated milk
1 c. semi sweet chocolate chips
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 melted butter (1 1/2 sticks)
1 c. chopped pecans

Melt caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk in double boiler. Mix cake mix with butter, and 1/3 cup evaporated milk, vanilla and pecans. Grease and flour 9 x 13 pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spread 1/2 of cake mixture in baking pan, and bake 6 minutes. Remove from over and sprinkle chips over the hot cake. Pour melted caramel mixture over the chips and spread around. Dab remaining 1/2 of cake mixture over all. Bake 16 minutes. Let cool 15 minutes before cutting.
