GERMAN CHOCOLATE CARAMEL BARS 
50 caramels (14 oz. bag)
1 (5 oz.) can evaporated milk, divided
1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix with pudding
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 c. chopped nuts
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Over low heat, melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Combine remaining milk with cake mix, butter and nuts to make stiff batter. Press 1/2 of cake mixture into 9"x13" pan; bake 6 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chips over crust, add caramel mixture and spread to edges. Top with remaining cake mixture, bake 15 to 20 minutes. Cool on rack; refrigerate. Cut into bars for serving. Makes 4 dozen.
