GERMAN CHOCOLATE CARAMEL
BROWNIES
 
1 box Duncan Hines German chocolate cake mix
1/2 c. butter
1 pkg. Kraft caramels
6 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
Nuts, chopped

Mix butter and cake mix together; pat 1/2 of mixture into a 13 x 9 inch pan. (Mixture will be crumbly.) Bake at 350 degrees for 10 - 15 minutes. Cool for 5 - 10 minutes.

Melt caramels in double boiler and spread over the cake mix after it is cooled. Spread chocolate chips over this. Spread remainder of cake mix over chocolate chips. Sprinkle nuts on top. Bake at 350 degrees 15 - 20 minutes. Cut while warm.
