FRIED FANTAIL SHRIMP IN BEER
BATTER THE ANDREW JACKSON
 
1 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 dash pepper
1 dash nutmeg
1 tsp. baking powder
1 beaten egg
1 c. beer
2 lbs. fresh shrimp
Cooking oil for frying

Work the above ingredients, except for the shrimp, into a beer batter. Peel shell from shrimp, leaving the last section and tail intact. Cut almost through shrimp at the center back without cutting ends. Dry shrimp and dip into beer batter. Fry in deep, hot fat until golden brown, drain, serve at once.
