1 egg
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. melted shortening
1 c. milk
2 heaping c. flour, sifted
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt

Beat egg until light. Add rest of ingredients. This make 2 cakes.

STREUSEL:

4-5 tbsp. sugar
2 heaping tbsp. flour
1/2 tbsp. cinnamon
1 rounded tbsp. butter
Pinch of salt

Work together with a fork until well crumbled. Sprinkle over the coffee cake. Bake in slow oven.
