BAKED SPICED CARROTS 
Carrots, julienned
A little chicken broth and/or wine
A little butter
Garlic, pepper, tarragon and/or basil

Wipe bottom of pan with butter; layer carrots. Pour 1/4 cup liquid over carrots. Sprinkle with spice. Cover tightly and bake 45 minutes. This is a good vegetable to cook with main dish that requires 1 hour of baking or more; conserve energy.
