Just what I was looking for, skipping all the "OTHER INGREDIENTS". This sauce with butterfly pasta strips of fried ham, spinach, avocado, sun dried tomato, mushroom, and topped with old cheddar to taste... I had that dish in a restaurant while traveling, I tried remaking it many times but it just wasn't right... it was the sauce!, this is it...

I'm a 15 year old girl from California that wanted some white sauced pasta for dinner.... This is really easy -- I didn't have any sour cream available but it turned out quite great. My brother and my grandmother loved it.... I just added mushrooms to my sauce but my brother wanted chicken next time... Definitely gonna use this recipe again!! =)

Very good!! I used the medium sauce recipe. After the milk mixture got thick, I added garlic, 3 slices of Swiss cheese, and then put in French onion chip dip! Soooo good. I was going to use sour cream, but the French onion dip has so much more flavor! Yum!!

I want to ask a question, do I put the salt and pepper and flour and stir it with the butter, or do I mix salt pepper and flour to milk first then pour it into the saucepan? I am really sorry for the basic question as I am so new in cooking :)

Hi Mama,

You can add it to the melted butter along with the flour, but if you add it to the milk it will turn out the same in the end :)

Happy to help!

Thanks, this was an easy sauce. I added a little olive oil, Bijol, Cumin, Chili powder, chopped clams, and crab meat and a shot of white wine. Served over linguini.

How do you modify this recipe to include white wine?

Awesome. I rubbed chicken tenderloins with salt, pepper and onion powder. I let them sit for a half hour. Two small drops of olive oil in a pan, cooked tenders and shredded them when they were not fully cooked inside. When they were cooked through I blanched the pan with a white wine. Let most (95%) of the white wine cook off at a low heat. I DOUBLED THE RECIPE, adding all the ingredients to the one pan, with the chicken. When sauce started to thicken, I added about a half cup of grated Parmesan cheese... When cheese melted and I was satisfied with the thickness of the sauce, I separated the chicken to a separate plate and poured sauce over a half box of cooked thin spaghetti... I mixed it thoroughly and put it to the plate. Then added the chicken evenly to each plate. Fed my family of four with a small portion left over.

Excellent sauce. Didn't go with the sour cream. Played in some garlic, olive oil, white wine & some spices. Was perfect for my cheese stuffed ravioli. Not too overpowering but flavorful enough. Thanks
