SCOTTISH MEAT LOAF 
1 lb. hamburg
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. rolled oats
1/2 c. grated carrot
1/4 c. grated onion
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. raw potato, grated
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1/4- 1/2 tsp. savory

Mix ingredients. Press into 9'x4" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Serve with tomato sauce, buttered turnip and cabbage.

This recipe was tasty but it didn't hold together at all in a loaf. I flipped it out of the pan after one hour and cooked it a further 15 minutes. The meat seemed cooked through but when I tried to cut the 'loaf' it was a loose pile - like hash. It may be lack of bread crumbs or the potatoes contributing too much liquid?? Not sure - will keep trying.
