1/2 c. butter or shortening
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
3 3/4 c. flour

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, vanilla, milk and soda. Add flour. Turn dough onto floured surface. Work by hand 5 minutes. Roll out about 1/2 inch thick and cut out with cookie cutter or desired shape. Bake at 375 degrees about 5 minutes.
