GRANDMA SHORT'S TEA CAKES 
2 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. coffee, cooled
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1/2 tsp. salt
3 c. flour
1 c. nuts, chopped

Cream shortening and sugar together, add the eggs. Then add coffee and baking soda with dry ingredients. Add nuts last. Spread on cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Put powdered sugar icing on top.

ICING FOR GRANDMA SHORT'S TEACAKES:

1/4 c. butter
Speck of salt
2 c. confectioners sugar
3 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Melt butter and then add salt. Mix well until creamy. Gradually add sugar and milk. Last add vanilla.
