TEA CAKES 
1/2 tsp. vanilla or lemon juice
4 tbsp. milk
1 c. butter or Crisco
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 c. flour
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking powder

Cream together first 3 ingredients. Mix in remaining ingredients. Roll out thick. Cut into square cookies or cut with large cookie cutter. Bake at 350 degrees until light brown. DO NOT OVER COOK.
