BACON WRAPPED WATER CHESTNUTS 
1 can water chestnuts
Bacon strips, cut in half

Do just what the name says. Wrap a strip of bacon around a water chestnut. Secure with a toothpick. Bake at 350 degrees until bacon is crisp.

VARIATION: You can marinate these before baking, if desired. Italian salad dressing works well and so does teriyaki sauce.

I make these every year...big hit at holidays. I make a sauce for them. 1/2 c. brown sugar, 1/4 c. mayo, 1/4 chili sauce. Heat brown sugar and mayo in small pan until creamy, add chili sauce - cook until it looks like a glaze. Place chestnuts in oven safe dish, pour sauce on them and broil low for a few minutes or bake @ 350°F. for 5-10 minutes. I made 600 for a Christmas party last year... they were the first things to go!! Very delicious!
