PECAN SENSATION FRUIT CAKE 
3/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 lb. pecans
1 c. well - drained maraschino cherries
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 pkg. dates, cut up
3 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla

Put flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in sifter. Combine dates, cherries and nuts in a large bowl. Sift dry mixture over this and stir into mixture. Combine eggs and vanilla and stir into mixture. Bake in loaf pan at 300 degrees for 1 hour and 40 minutes. Check after 1 hour and 10 minutes.
